Job Description: An Architectural Technical Manager is responsible for implementing architectural/engineering project(s), including Design, Construction Documents, Permitting, Bidding, and Construction Administration. Included are coordination with and responsibility for communicating with other disciplines. Requirements: A Technical Manager shall have twelve (12) years of experience. This position requires a thorough understanding of building construction methods and techniques as well as the applicable codes. Final responsibility for the technical quality of a project lies with the Technical Manager. Responsibilities/Skills: Capable of serving as the main point of contact for a project or series of projects with one or several clients, the contractor, and the consultants with limited input required from the Project Manager or Principal. Ensure coordination with all disciplines. Oversee the design and production of construction documents and specifications for the projects/programs. Maintain CP and/or the client’s standards. Provide ongoing quality control throughout the project. Obtain and perform peer review of documents. Work with PM setting up project budget(s) and completing designated scope of work within allotted time. Delegate, review, and accept responsibility for work of subordinate team members. Coordination of the project with Permitting (i.e., issuing, tracking, expediting, and responding to jurisdictional comments, variances, etc.). Communicate owner revisions and RFI’s. Assist in representing the client’s interests at public hearings and meetings, as needed. Provide customer service to client in order to maintain relationship. Coordinate the bidding process including contractor qualification, bid document preparation, bid evaluation, and assist with contract negotiation as needed. Assist in providing full Construction Administration services (i.e., construction site visits, preparation of field reports, processing change orders, shop drawing review, request for payment form review, gathering lien waivers, warranty information, and project close-out) as needed.
