Join V/Line for an exhilarating 3-year adventure as an Asset Class Strategy Specialist in Operational Control Systems (OCS) within our dynamic Network Development, Asset & Maintenance (NDAM) function. This role is your gateway to leading the strategic development and seamless integration of OCS asset class strategies into our core business processes. About the role As V/Line’s Asset Class Strategy Specialist, you will be at the forefront of innovation, collaborating with key stakeholders to drive the establishment and enhancement of robust asset management plans and lifecycle models. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing a diverse array of OCS assets, including Train Control Systems, Operational Communication Systems, and more, ensuring their sustainable and efficient operation throughout their lifecycle. Representing the OCS Program Manager, you will provide strategic advice in various governance forums, coordinate SLA reporting, and deliver impactful briefings and presentations. You will also be crucial in developing business cases to justify funding for projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Key accountabilities include: Strategic Asset Management: Lead the development and integration of OCS asset strategies. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders for successful strategy implementation. Lifecycle Strategy: Develop and validate lifecycle model for OCS assets. AWP Leadership: Manage OCS components in AWP submissions. SME Contributions: Provide expertise for Corridor Strategies and MPM work bank. Obsolescence Management: Advise on obsolete technologies and manage updates. ISO50001 Compliance: Participate in assessments and audits for energy management. Data Management: Develop SADMs and improve asset data for lifecycle modelling. System Optimisation: Ensure systems support functional activities effectively. Model Development: Gather data, define modelling parameters, and run simulations. Investment Strategy: Develop and deliver asset investment strategies on time. Project Management: Oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring efficiency and excellence. Business Case Development: Write comprehensive business cases to justify funding for projects. About you The Asset Class Strategy Specialist will possess robust experience and technical expertise. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving strategic initiatives that enhance asset performance, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will be a key player in our team, contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional value through effective asset management. Our ideal candidate will possess the following: A deep comprehension of the ISO 55001 framework, ensuring alignment with international asset management protocols. The capacity to articulate ideas clearly and effectively in both oral and written forms. Demonstrated expertise in orchestrating projects from inception to completion, with a focus on efficiency and excellence. Extensive experience in writing business cases to justify funding for projects. The ability to craft detailed strategies that pave the way for long-term achievements. A keen ability to dissect complex information and extract actionable insights. Strong skills in identifying issues swiftly and implementing effective solutions. Technical knowledge of critical systems such as SCADA, virtualisation, and CCTV. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline and/or OCMS Asset Management. TCP/IP/data/radio networks, telephony, and Cyber Security and other IT hardware/software preferred.
