‘Assistance and Care in Emergency’ (ACE) volunteers create a welcoming atmosphere in the Emergency Department by providing patients with a friendly face, guidance, companionship, conversation, and ‘a good listening ear’. They work in partnership with staff to meet the personal and practical support needs of patients and their attending family members/friends.
