‘Assistance and Care in Emergency’ (ACE) volunteers create a welcoming atmosphere in the Emergency Department providing patients with a friendly face, guidance, companionship, conversation and ‘a good listening ear’. They work in partnership with staff to meet the personal and practical support needs of patients and their attending family members/friends.
