At InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, we are looking for an Assistant Banquets Manager to join our Conference & Events Operations Team. In this role, you’ll combine your passion for hospitality with the opportunity to work closely with the Food and Beverage leadership team, supporting and leading the Banquets operation. In this key role reporting to the Director of Banquets Operations, you will work closely with the event planning team to ensure the smooth and efficient service of event operations; coordinating the day-to-day operations of the events space to achieve set financial and guest experience targets. You will also be responsible for developing and motivating colleagues, promoting a positive team culture where our colleagues are driven to deliver a unique guest experience that brings the brand to life. Additionally, you will coach and develop team members around departmental ways of working and ensure the team is upskilled to work across multiple outlets within the food & beverage operation. You will also support the Resort’s responsible business priorities around our community and environmental initiatives. The ideal candidate must have: Leadership experience within a large event operation, preferably within a hotel or resort environment. An outgoing and positive attitude with the ability to work alongside a team in a diverse and challenging environment. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, overnights, weekends, and public holidays across a seven-day roster. A current Australian driver’s license and Queensland RSA.
