Exceed expectations of customers every time by providing responsive, exceptional service by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples and responding to requests. Assist in training, development and leadership of a passionate team, whilst maintaining and nurturing a culture where people and food safety is inherent. Supervise the recommendation, slicing, weighing, packaging and pricing of deli meats. Production of weekly rosters to meet staffing and budgeting requirements. Assist in monitoring and maintaining stock inventory including wastage, shrinkage and quality control, whilst reviewing rotation activities. Conduct accurate stocktakes and stock ordering, ensuring sufficient stock is always available, on display and accurately recorded. Inspire customers through presentation, merchandising, updating and refreshing displays, cases and other customer-facing areas. Ensuring a visually full offering where new items and promotions are showcased and delighting our customers with an outstanding interactive shopping experience by conducting weekly product information/tasting sessions. Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, equipment and floors, rubbish removal and inspecting equipment for good working order. Review completed deli concession opening and closing procedures, following up on maintenance requirements of equipment and surrounding deli concession. Maintain the work area and equipment in a hygienic and safe condition, to avoid cross-contamination of raw foodstuffs with ready-to-eat foodstuffs. Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies whilst always looking to simplify processes and meet audit and compliance standards. ABOUT YOU Significant fresh food retail knowledge. Experience in Service Assistant Deli Management is essential. Expertise in leading and managing teams is a bonus. Ordering and cost control expertise. An excellent understanding of gross profit calculations. Accurate staff rostering. Passion and enthusiasm, with a very 'hands-on' approach. Unparalleled commitment to customer service. Ability to liaise with both team members and management. A flair for merchandising. Strong leadership and delegation skills.
