Details: The Assistant Director will be a key member of the Better Regulation Branch. The position will contribute to building strong relationships across the public service, with business and the community to support delivery of the Government’s regulatory reform program and objectives the Better Regulation Branch delivers. The Assistant Director will work in a small team in the Chief Minister, Treasury and Economic Development (CMTEDD) Directorate and with officers across Government. The Better Regulation Branch sits within the Policy and Cabinet Division which develops, implements, and coordinates key government regulatory reforms. Policy and Cabinet supports the Chief Minister, the Minister for the Night-Time Economy, Cabinet, and the Head of Service as Secretary of Cabinet and Chair of Strategic Board, through the provision of policy and support, including Cabinet secretariat functions and advice. Eligibility/Other Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline are desirable but not essential. Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 May 2025. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. The ACT Public Service promotes flexible work options. Opportunities for flexible working could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, as well as flexible start, and finish times.
