Senior Regulatory Officer (Assistant Director)Full-time Temporary Details : Do you enjoy a challenge and want to be part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with licensed and unlicensed regulated utilities to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of essential regulated utility services that Canberrans rely on every day? Utilities Technical Regulation (UTR) in Access Canberra is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with strong written and verbal communication skills, who understands regulatory and government processes, and can work with a range of different stakeholders to join the Energy team in UTR. As a Senior Regulatory Officer, you will provide support to the multi-disciplinary UTR Energy team to assist with the development and delivery of regulatory projects, and you will provide advice to the Technical Regulator on a range of technical and regulatory matters relating to utility infrastructure in the Territory, including Light Rail, electricity networks, and gas and water. Key tasks include developing a range of high-quality strategic and operational documents, legal instruments and contribution to UTR annual compliance reports and Cabinet submissions. The UTR team works flexibly from the Dickson Office Building, home and other ACT Government buildings across Canberra. Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in a demonstrably relevant field would be highly desirable. Experience in a regulatory environment, within a utility or policy area, is highly desirable. Note: This is a temporary position available 24 February 2025 until 30 October 2026 with the possibility of extension. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
