What you will do as the Assistant Director The role of Assistant Director will lead a team to deliver Agriculture Unit and wider Branch outcomes and will also: Assess allegations and provide input into assessments of, mainly agriculture-related, breaches of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and communicate the outcomes to the Director and General Manager. Contribute to and draft reports, briefs, correspondence, speeches, ministerials, submissions, statutory notices, and other documents. Bring strong leadership and management skills to assist the Agriculture Unit to deliver high-quality outcomes in line with ACCC objectives as well as contributing to the development of the team. Draw on strong communication skills to develop and maintain both internal and external stakeholder networks including with Government agencies and agriculture industry stakeholders. About you In order to succeed in the role, you will have: Demonstrated experience leading a professional team or similar role in a fast-paced and large complex people-centred organisation. Technical knowledge:A sound knowledge of the competition and consumer protection and competition provisions of the Act or a demonstrated ability to quickly acquire such knowledge. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as law, commerce, economics, or accounting) or an equivalent demonstrated qualification. Experience in successfully and autonomously managing and delivering large, concurrent projects to deadline, using initiative, and responding flexibly to change and uncertainty. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively and work cohesively with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence, persuade, and negotiate. The Diploma in Government Investigations qualification is also highly valued and candidates who do not have a Diploma will be supported to gain one.
