As the Assistant Cotton Manager, you’ll play a key role in producing quality crops while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.Job Description About your next job Reporting to the Cotton Area Manager, you’ll take on a leadership role focused on coordinating cropping activities, machinery operations, and team development. Key responsibilities include: Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture across the team. Coordinate and optimise machinery activities such as setup, maintenance, input resupply, refuelling, and logistics management across properties. Monitor crop health and growth stages, and collaborate with agronomists to ensure optimal outcomes. Manage GPS systems for all in-field machinery and capture key operational data. Train, coach, and mentor team members on machinery operation, safety protocols, and technical best practices. Work with contractors and delivery teams to ensure smooth operations and documentation compliance. About You We’re looking for someone who can lead, inspire, and collaborate while driving excellence in cotton operations: Previous experience in large-scale cotton and irrigated cropping (Assistant Manager, Leading Hand, or similar roles). Expertise with large-scale machinery operations and a deep understanding of irrigated cotton crops. A natural mentor, able to train and inspire team members while fostering a learning environment. A team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work with contractors and agronomists. Strong initiative and self-motivation to improve efficiencies and achieve outcomes.
