On behalf of my clients who operate in the Australian Defence sector, I am currently looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager who holds an NV2 or above clearance. The role is open to candidates who are seeking a long-term day rate contract OR a permanent role. Please note that due to the nature of the work, this position is only open to candidates who can be based full time in Canberra and who hold the relevant level of clearance. ROLE OVERVIEW: As the Assistant Project Manager, you will be heavily involved in supporting Project Managers in delivering key EW projects within EWIS . Your invaluable support to these Project Managers will ensure project success, progressing projects through the various stages of the capability lifecycle from strategy and inception through to in-service support and disposal. In doing so, you will play an essential role in providing the Australian Defence Force with cutting-edge technology and tools to deliver its mission. Key Responsibilities: Work alongside Commonwealth project team members, supporting the progress of projects through the One Defence Capability System, including assistance in the development of key documents supporting project clearance through Defence capability gate reviews. Assist with project support tasks including administration and coordination of project activities and documentation. Support project reporting requirements at various levels to different audiences, both internal and external to Defence. Provide administrative support to various project workshops. Communicate, respond, and provide advice to a range of project stakeholders. Assist with project financial planning, tracking of project budgets including development of key documents supporting Commonwealth procurement processes. Essential requirements: Experience gained in a similar role within the Defence sector ideally with some experience in the EW or land domains. Excellent interpersonal skills. Clear communicator both written and verbally. Canberra based. Current or recently suspended NV2 AGSVA clearance. Desirable requirements: Project management qualification and/or certification.
