Associate Director, Small Business Credit Analysis ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, Small Business Credit Analysis Join an organisation that has been proudly recognised certified as a 2024 Great Place to Work for four years Hybrid work/life balance Initial 12-month contract The Associate Director, Small Business Credit Analysis is a critical role within Small Business Lending, delivering the credit analysis function to originating and servicing SBL customers. It includes managing a portfolio of customers throughout the credit lifecycle including renewals. Location: Sydney Role Type: Full-time – 12 month contract Support the Director, Small Business Lending in optimising pipeline approvals and conversion to signing across Small Business Lending and provide credit coaching support to team members. Role model best practice and expertise to achieve a high standard in credit analysis. Manage credit analysis and assessments throughout the customer lifecycle from initial transaction assessments and writing new deals through to requests for renewals and repeat business. Ensuring assessments are completed in compliance with EFA’s credit policies and procedures and risk appetite, and within appropriate timeframes. Manage the credit processes for customers with a high-risk profile or material value transactions as needed. Work in collaboration with the Senior Manager, Small Business Lending to manage customer interactions and servicing throughout the customer lifecycle, ensure proactive engagement and strong relationships with customers. Identify facilities with deteriorating risk profiles, work to ensure appropriate action and early identification of risks is taken to manage the facility, escalate issues and implement loss-minimalization strategies where required. Engage with Credit to discuss papers prepared, articulate reasoning for decisions, support analysis with evidence and engage with Legal and Compliance where necessary. ABOUT YOU Circa 7 years’ experience in a similar role with another banking or financial services organisation. Strong credit assessment skills, ability to write excellent quality credits for transactions of varying complexity and risk. Understanding of the credit assessment requirements and documentation throughout the customer life cycle. Strong understanding of the KYC/AML processes, the transaction risk assessment requirements and how to complete a good quality risk assessment. Demonstrates an understanding of the potential risks and threats to EFA in this area. Sound experience dealing with high-risk and non-performing files, ability to identify issues and assess what needs to be done to mitigate these. Sound understanding of how debt financing can meet the needs of small businesses. Be able to demonstrate how you apply knowledge and experience of managing risk to the portfolio, solving complex problems, adapting the risk approach to differing customer circumstances and facilities in line with EFA’s approach to risk.
