Overview: Full-time, Continuing position Salary Academic Level D ($163,538 - $180,166) + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working About You Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to lead research, teaching, and engagement initiatives, while mentoring and developing the next generation of scholars and industry professionals? We are seeking an Associate Professor (Level D) to join our Department of Management & Organisation within the School of Management . As an Associate Professor, you will play a pivotal role in driving research excellence, fostering innovation in teaching, and providing academic leadership . Specifically, you will provide: Research Excellence – Make significant and distinguished contributions at a national and international level through research and research-related activities relevant to Management and Leadership discipline. Innovation in Teaching – Provide strategic inputs in the design and delivery of programs through various modes and offerings, coordinate and teach postgraduate and/or undergraduate programs in Melbourne or in other locations. Academic Leadership – Support the Head of Department in setting strategic priorities, managing academic staff, and driving operational excellence through academic leadership roles within the School, College, and University. External Engagement – Strengthen partnerships with industry, government, and professional bodies to achieve successful research translation and impact beyond academia. To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum: A nationally recognised research track record, with an emerging international profile in Management and Leadership Extensive experience in research leadership, building and mentoring high-performing research teams. A proven ability to secure external research funding and manage complex research projects. A strong track record in supervising higher degree by research students and fostering academic development. Expertise in program leadership , including curriculum design, quality assurance, and student engagement. Superior expertise in effectively managing academic teams in a large organisational unit or University-wide initiative. A deep understanding of governance, financial, and quality systems within a university. Demonstrated ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs. Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills , with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives, academic and professional colleagues, and external university partners. A demonstrated ability to contribute to and lead large-scale academic initiatives , working effectively within a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment.
