About the Opportunity As an Associate Professor in Geoscience, you will lead innovative research initiatives in Earth Sciences, focusing on societal challenges. Building and maintaining strong industry, government, and academic partnerships, securing funding, and advancing knowledge in Economic Geology, Geochemistry, and Geodata Science will be an integral part of this role. Additionally, you will develop teaching and professional training programs, mentor students and early-career researchers, and foster an environment of academic excellence and innovation. You will make a substantial contribution to the University’s strategic objectives by developing and implementing strategies, securing external funding, publishing research findings, and providing leadership in teaching and learning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Earth Sciences and CODES through cutting-edge research and its real-world applications. What’s Required A substantial record in, and continuing commitment to, research that has achieved international recognition and made innovative, and sustained contributions to one or more of the fields of Economic Geology, Geochemistry and/or Geodata Science , demonstrated by a very strong record of high-quality publications, presentations at conferences and success in securing external competitive and other funding. A strong and sustained track record of excellence in industry engagement and impact. A substantial record of successful research higher degree student supervision and completions, or leadership of equivalent research-focused teams. Extensive experience and demonstrated achievement in university-level teaching and training. Proven ability as an academic leader, with a strong record in team building and creating effective working relationships, along with a capacity to foster excellence in research and teaching. A demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective and productive links locally, nationally and internationally with the discipline, profession, industry and wider community. Qualifications and Licences A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field and or Industry/professional experience relevant to the position. Willingness to undertake a medical assessment based on meeting the inherent position requirements. Willingness to obtain working with vulnerable people registration. How to Apply?
