About the role As the Assurance Officer, you will: Provide informed support to assurance teams by conducting pre-assurance activities involving the collection and organisation of information and data from relevant sources as part of the scoping and progression of assurance activities. As a member of the assurance team (under supervision), assist on, as well as occasionally lead assurance activities of registered training organisations for compliance with SAS Agreements and provide advice regarding compliance matters to a range of stakeholders regarding assurance outcomes. Participate in the monitoring of SAS performance through a process of continuous improvement and engagement with internal stakeholders as well as related state and federal entities. Develop and maintain accurate, valid and comprehensive electronic records related to assurance activity in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. What we are looking for The position requires an applicant who can: Demonstrate knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, the vocational education and training sector in Queensland as it relates to SAS Agreements. Demonstrate an ability to research, collect and analyse data and information, investigate issues, make decisions and recommendations to achieve objectives. Confidently present information in a clear and concise manner in both verbal and written communication including the ability to utilise effective interpersonal, consultation and negotiation skills with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrate an ability to take personal responsibility for timely and accurate completion of work and commit energy and drive to ensure that unit and departmental objectives are achieved. As part of a team, participate in activities and projects using initiative to solve problems and make considered, ethical and courageous decisions based on insight into the broader context.
