About the Role As the Audit Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the Assurance Leader to shape and sustain a high-performing Assurance function. You will contribute to designing, testing, and enhancing risk analysis and regulatory compliance controls across EnergyAustralia, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on the organisation’s risk management and compliance framework, helping drive our success while working in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Support the Assurance Leader to develop the annual assurance plan in accordance with the IIA and best practice standards. Ensuring that the Assurance Framework is effectively implemented and maintained across EnergyAustralia, incorporating best practices to ensure that EnergyAustralia’s assurance processes are robust and effective. Delivery of the annual assurance plan to the expected quality (as per the relevant standards) and in a timely manner. Providing assurance on the design and operational effectiveness of EnergyAustralia's regulatory compliance controls. Use data analytics or other Computer Assisted Audit Tools to perform fieldwork and analyse population, sampling and results. Influencing stakeholders across EnergyAustralia to strengthen and uplift regulatory compliance, in line with EnergyAustralia’s strategic goals and objectives. Preparing high quality reporting to the board to enable better decision making. Keeping up to date with current industry developments, regulatory updates, and best practices in auditing and assurance, and ensuring the team’s work aligns with these changes. Working closely and collaboratively with the Enterprise Risk team to ensure that control information is aligned with material risks and control management methodology is integrated with Enterprise Risk frameworks and systems. How can you support the Clean Energy Transition To be successful you will have experience of the following: Minimum 8 years of experience in the execution of internal audit (preferred) or external audit. Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or relevant degree (minimum). Well-developed interpersonal skills and communication skills both written and verbal. Understanding of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), COSO, and ISO31000 guidelines for internal audit and risk management. Experience in the use of data analytics or other CAATs programs. Demonstrated experience in report writing and documentation skills, ensuring that all findings, analysis, and recommendations are clearly, accurately, and comprehensively communicated. The ability to influence and engage a diverse range of stakeholders (Executives and the Board) in a variety of business issues.
