Job Description
General Manager of Finance and Operations We are a family-owned manufacturing and farming business located in Tabbita, north-west of Griffith NSW. For 35 years we have been growing, harvesting, processing and packaging vegetable products that are distributed Australia-wide. Job Position – Permanent Full-Time As a senior member of the administration team, you would play a key role in the day-to-day general accounting tasks including : Preparation of the annual budget including product and crop costing Coordinate manufacturing, production planning, and purchasing processes to meet customer service objectives while working within budget constraints Focus on financial performance by effectively managing cash flow and meeting sales profit targets. Liaise with external accountants on taxation matters, including annual tax returns Ad-hoc financial projects as required by other members of the management team Responsible for month-end and annual accounts Processing associated with accounts payable, receivable and payroll Transition period with those currently performing these roles is anticipated The General Manager plays an important role in guiding the organisation towards short and long-term strategic and financial goals About You We are looking for an experienced and strategically focused finance professional. This position would suit someone with previous experience in an accounting firm or within the industry. We are seeking applicants who also hold a combination of the right skills, experience, and attitude, including : Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA or CA would be ideal but not essential A desire to contribute to the success of the business Willingness to cover other administrative responsibilities if required Team player with good communication skills Experience with Microsoft Excel and MYOB or similar accounting software Flexible in approach to work and willing to put in the time and effort required in workload peaks Must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia Remuneration Competitive salary, $100k to $130k plus statutory superannuation, appropriate to the applicant’s experience and skills. As a family business we would expect that you play a significant role in the determination and direction of the company. The business is very flexible in getting input from a different set of eyes to address the challenges that present themselves.
