What are we looking for? We are seeking a skilled and passionate Automation Technician – Controls to join our Maintenance team on the Afternoon Shift . As an Automation Technician, you will be part of a highly talented team supporting production, new process setup, and process improvement activities. Role Purpose & Responsibilities Provide line-side production support to maximize machinery availability and uptime, ensuring swift issue resolution. Troubleshoot, fault-find, and provide technical support for robots, PLC systems, SCADA, and other manufacturing equipment. Implement continuous improvement actions for robotics, control systems, and automated machinery to enhance safety, capacity, capability, quality, and cost. Work closely with the Production and Maintenance teams to resolve operational concerns and maintain facility availability to meet production demands. Prioritize and resolve high-impact issues efficiently. Program and troubleshoot robotic and control systems across the manufacturing facility. Document issues, root causes, and resolutions within the Maintenance Guardian system. Position Requirements: Experience in a manufacturing production environment is highly regarded. Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment operations and maintenance requirements. Formal training in robot programming and PLC logic. Ability to operate material-handling robots via teach pendants, including jogging and program modifications. Experience with Kuka, ABB, and Fanuc is advantageous. Ability to read and debug ladder logic and structured text programming (Omron Sysmac experience is a plus). Solid understanding of equipment cell safety, safety devices, and PLC safety systems. Experience with network switches, Ethernet IP, EtherCat, and I/O link protocols. Previous involvement in building, commissioning, and launching new manufacturing facilities and equipment is a plus.
