We are seeking a dedicated Aviation Safety & Quality Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on implementing, maintaining, and continually improving processes and systems in safety and quality management within the Aviation and Engineering areas. Reporting to the Aviation Safety Manager, with a dotted line to the Engineering Quality Manager, you will work closely with aviation personnel and senior executives to drive a robust safety culture and collaborate on safety and quality initiatives. About you Formal qualifications in Aviation safety and risk management Extensive knowledge and experience in aircraft operations, air traffic management, aerodrome operations, and aviation maintenance. 2+ years of experience in applying safety management principles and practices. Proven ability to interpret and apply aviation and safety legislation and Australian Standards to implement safe work solutions and promote a safety-focused culture. Formal qualifications in incident/accident and hazard investigation techniques. Certified Lead Auditor. About the role Maintain, review, and evaluate the effectiveness of the Aviation Safety and Quality Management System (SQMS). Liaise with CASA and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) on safety-related issues. Triage aviation hazards and incidents, investigate, and report outcomes. Compile safety data, monitor trends, and advise management on safety matters. Inform the Aviation Safety Manager of significant safety issues. Act as secretariat for the Fatigue Safety Action Group Meetings. Maintain and review policies, procedures, manuals, and records. Provide advice on CASA regulations and general aviation matters. Contribute to the implementation and review of risk management processes and promote the risk management framework. Investigate aviation-related security occurrences as per the Transport Security Plan (TSP). Conduct audits and inspections, reporting results against applicable legislation and standards. Implement and maintain a Safety Promotion and Communication Plan.
