Work Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people. Roster: 7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth The Fixed Plant Belt Technician reports directly to the OPF Maintenance Services Supervisor and plays a key role in maintaining, repairing, and improving conveyor systems and equipment. The role ensures availability and reliability to the plant while upholding Fortescue's safety and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Maintain a strong focus on Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) practices aligned with Fortescue standards. Perform steel cord and fabric conveyor belt splicing, repairs, and pulley lagging using cold vulcanised techniques. Apply rubber linings to components such as pipes, chutes, and spools. Perform basic scraper maintenance (belt cleaning). Conduct conveyor maintenance, including roller/frame replacements, skirt repairs, and installing tracking devices. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and log data in the asset management system (PDS). Qualifications and Experience Level 3 Belt Splicing trade qualification or equivalent. Experience using computer maintenance management systems (SAP, PDS). Significant experience in fixed plant continuous processing environments. Strong understanding of production and maintenance strategies for large-scale operations. Commitment to safety and zero harm. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
