Join Our Team as a Board Treasurer at YWCA Hunter! Are you passionate about financial governance and making a difference in the Hunter Region? YWCA Hunter is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our board as Treasurer. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial health and sustainability of our organisation, ensuring we continue to make a positive impact. YWCA Hunter Region Inc. is part of a national and international movement that has been a cornerstone of the Hunter community for over 100 years. Our mission is to promote women’s leadership and gender equity by driving social and economic change through empowerment and leadership development. The YWCA advocates for peace, justice, human rights, and environmental care, proudly leading efforts to elevate the status of women worldwide. Treasurer Position: Commitment: 4-6 hours per month inclusive of Board & Subcommittee meetings. Board meetings are held via video conferencing on an 8-weekly basis after normal business hours (AEDT/AEST). You will have the support of the wider Board Members, including the YWCA Hunter Executive Director and a pro bono legal firm. Additionally, an external accountant is a key resource for our financial operations. We encourage applications from individuals residing in or with experience in the Hunter Region. Desired Qualifications and Skills: Professional experience and qualifications in finance or accounting. Experience in financial governance and reporting, particularly in not-for-profit or community settings. Experience in diversifying funding streams and reviewing financial contracts and investments.
