Job Description

Volunteer Treasurer – Board Member Community Information & Support Victoria Inc (CISVic) is a registered charity with DGR and PBI status, dedicated to supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable Victorians. We’re looking for a skilled Treasurer to join our Board on a volunteer basis and provide strong financial oversight that drives our sustainable future. Overview: In this role, you’ll work closely with the CEO and Board to ensure robust financial management and transparent reporting. Success means keeping our financial strategy on track, guiding critical discussions on risk and forecasting, and ensuring CISVic’s funds are managed to maximise community impact. You’ll be pivotal in upholding our accountability and supporting our mission to assist those in need. Your role is supported by a qualified Chartered Accountant who provides the day to day accountancy functions, using Xero, in a paid consultancy role with CISVic. Meetings are held online, during business hours. There are occasional face to face events such as an end of year celebration with the CISVic team. Responsibilities: • Collaborate with the CEO and Board/Subcommittees to monitor financial performance. • Review and provide feedback on draft budgets and financial reports ahead of meetings. • Facilitate the signing of audited accounts by the Board. • Present annual financial statements at the AGM. • Communicate significant financial events and changes promptly to leadership. • Maintain 100% confidentiality of all organisational and Board information. Qualifications: • Proven expertise in financial oversight and governance, ideally within the not‐for‐profit sector. • Strong commitment to CISVic’s vision, mission, and values. • Experience in managing budgets, interpreting financial reports, and leading financial strategy discussions. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with senior leadership and Board members. • Availability to participate regularly in Board and Sub-Committee meetings. • Uncompromising ethical standards, transparency, and accountability. If you’re ready to use your financial expertise to make a tangible difference in the Victorian community, we’d love to hear from you. Join us and help steer CISVic toward a sustainable future. #J-18808-Ljbffr
