WoodMaster Portable Buildings, a Division of Tuff Shed, the industry leader in storage buildings, is currently looking for a Building Repair Technician based out of our location in Cobden, IL. We're looking for motivated and team-oriented individuals! The Building Repair Technician transports portable buildings, performs maintenance and repairs on portable buildings, open/close or reset dealer lots, DOT Compliance, and complies with all company and fleet policies. DUTIES INCLUDE: Transporting Portable Buildings Obtain weekly schedule from Fleet Manager on daily repair orders/assignments. Locate and Inspect building for defects prior to loading. Repair any defects found prior to transporting, get serial number rub. Tarp, load, chain, strap and placard truck prior to departure. Conduct a final safety walk around prior to departure. Transport and reset the sales lot as scheduled, line, level and report to dealer. Maintenance and Repair of Portable Buildings Perform any and all maintenance on any WMPB buildings on lots. Perform requested maintenance/repairs on customer WMPB buildings. Take Inventory of buildings on any sales lot location. Transport Inventory to or from Dealer lot. Align, level and reset lot display per specifications. Collect all WMPB sales items, signs at time of lot closures. Install/Remove signage on sales lot as assigned. Other General Duties Submit expense reports, weekly through Concur. Maintain compliance of all fleet & company policies such as DOT regulations. Maintain driver daily logs as per weekly schedule. Conduct pre/post trip vehicle inspections to meet DOT regulation. Provide regular updates to dispatcher & divisional fleet manager on daily activities. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Regular DL with a clean driving record. Knowledge of safety regulations, traffic laws, and vehicle maintenance practices. Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a DOT certificate. Strong understanding of DOT regulations governing commercial vehicle operation, including hours of service, vehicle inspection, and cargo securement requirements. Basic construction experience (painting, roofing, etc.) and the use of power tools and machinery. Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with customers. Ability to operate delivery vehicles safely and efficiently. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. Ability to solve problems using sound logic and good business judgment. Ability to work well in a team. Ability to read, write and understand instructions given orally, in writing and/or in diagram form. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels, including customers, business partners, suppliers, co-workers, managers, and the general public. Ability to travel up to 100% with overnight stays. Minimum of 1 year experience as a driver, preferably in a distribution or logistics role. Minimum of 1 year experience operating tractor-trailer combinations.
