Base pay range A$170,000.00/yr - A$170,000.00/yr Job Title: Business Analyst Lead- Application Uplift & Controls ManagementLocation: SydneyJob Type: 2 Year FTC 2 days a week office attendance Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst (BA) with a strong background in infrastructure, virtualization, on-premises environments, and technology assurance controls . The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business requirements and IT infrastructure, ensuring applications running on infrastructure (such as Puppet, Terraform, and other configuration management tools), virtual machines (VMs), and on-prem environments meet security, compliance, and operational best practices. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Analysis & Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders to define and document business and technical requirements for infrastructure solutions, including on-prem and cloud-based environments. Evaluate current infrastructure setups, identify gaps, and recommend improvements. Technology Assurance & Compliance: Ensure infrastructure and applications comply with regulatory, security, and technology assurance frameworks. Collaborate with compliance teams to assess risks and implement necessary controls. Virtualization & On-Premises Support: Understand and document requirements for virtualized environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud-based VMs. Assist in the optimization and standardization of on-prem infrastructure setups. Application Support on Infrastructure: Work with application teams to ensure infrastructure can support critical business applications like Puppet and other automation/configuration management tools. Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions to enhance reliability. Ensure best practices for deploying, managing, and monitoring applications that sit on infrastructure. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication: Act as a liaison between business units, IT, and infrastructure teams to align technology solutions with business objectives. Translate complex infrastructure concepts into business-friendly language. Project Management & Documentation: Support infrastructure-related projects by creating detailed business cases, functional specifications, and process documentation. Track and report on project progress, risks, and dependencies. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience: 7+ years as a Business Analyst with a focus on IT infrastructure and technology assurance. Leadership: Some experience mentoring and leading BAs. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of on-prem infrastructure, virtual machines, networking, and enterprise IT environments. Tech Assurance Expertise: Knowledge of IT governance, risk, compliance, and assurance controls (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, ITIL, COBIT). Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess complex technical environments and provide clear recommendations. Tools & Technologies: Familiarity with configuration management tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and automation tools. Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation abilities. Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or a related field.
