The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.The Quality and Innovation Unit provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, programs, models and policies for improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Well-being. About the Role? The Data Services team at IUIH is responsible for data collection, integration, processing, reporting, and dashboard development, as well as enhancing data literacy across the network. The Business Analyst / Project Manager will coordinate the full project lifecycle, engaging with stakeholders to define data requirements and working with the data team to design and deliver actionable data solutions. They will ensure that reports, dashboards, and data models are developed within scope, on time, and aligned with business needs.Day-to-Day Duties May Include: Engage with internal stakeholders, including clinical teams and executives, to understand their data needs across day-to-day management, business intelligence and reporting. Elicit business and technical requirements using workshops, interviews, surveys, and document analysis. Coordinate the development of data models, dashboards, and reporting templates in collaboration with the data team, ensuring the successful execution of projects from requirements gathering to final delivery. Assess the usability (UX) of data products with business units and refine them for clarity and actionability through formal User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes. Lead the development and maintenance of documentation, including requirement specifications, data dictionaries, business cases and user manuals. Develop comprehensive project plans that outline timelines, resource allocation, and milestones for data service initiatives. Gain a deep understanding of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used in the network, including data lineage from input to data extraction and utilisation, and use this knowledge to lead all project activity. Contribute to data quality assurance processes, and support the implementation of data governance best practices, ensuring compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations and funding requirements. About You? Tertiary qualification in Data Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field. Proven experience working with healthcare data, preferably in primary care settings. Proven experience implementing structured data projects, from thorough requirements gathering, development through to review and delivery, while effectively managing change requests to minimize project delays. Strong knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), including how clinical data is entered, stored, extracted, and utilized for reporting. Experience with data modeling, BI reporting, and dashboard development using tools like Tableau, Power BI, SQL, along with ETL processes, particularly in Microsoft environments (SQL Server, Fabric). Strong analytical skills, with an ability to assess data quality, accuracy, timeliness, and usability. Current C Class Driver’s Licence (QLD) and Current Criminal History Check. Desirable, but not mandatory: Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and health services. Understanding of UX and human-centered design principles as they apply to reports, dashboards, and data products. Experience in a variety of project management methodologies (i.e. Agile, Waterfall). Knowledge of healthcare funding and reporting frameworks (e.g., Medicare, PHNs, government funder requirements). What Can we Offer?
