You may well have them in your home, or in the office from which you work. For decades they have been a family-owned company and a leading brand, supported with the highest levels of customer service. More recently they have become part of a global building products organisation with complementary products and the resources needed to take the business to a new level. In other words, the time is exactly right for you to consider a career move to a company that is entering an exciting growth phase, that will invest in your development and that will help you build on your existing experience. Your focus will be Victoria, nurturing existing retail relationships and opening new business. You’ll be expected to generate growth, represented by greater share of wallet from existing accounts AND new revenue from retail distributors who are not, as yet, customers. To give you context, this is a competitive marketplace. Your success will come from being “hungry” in terms of chasing business, and from looking after your customers, and therefore protecting your business, through high levels of customer service, professional territory management, planning and follow up. As you’d expect, you’ll have KPIs all around revenue, growth and margin. Because of this, we want you to already stand apart from your competitors as a consistently high performing sales professional – Account Manager, Territory Manager, Sales Representative – with network in Tier 1/2/3. In other words, you absolutely understand how buying decisions are made. Ideally, you’ll bring considerable experience around the specification process but as a minimum, you’ll need to be able to talk to customers as a business adviser/partner, and through that relationship, making sales. Our client has made one thing very clear. They want to hire top talent into this role. For that reason, we aren’t overly concerned about the actual products you have been selling as long as you have the network we need and a track record of learning fast. We want you to be stable in terms of career – putting down roots so that your results consistently show the success of your territory plans over time. This isn’t a role for a job-hopper. We’d like you to have worked in a business with good systems and reporting in place, one in which you’ve learned to use a CRM system as a planning and reporting tool. At a personal level?
