About the role Liontown Resources is seeking a passionate Business Development Geologist to join our Commercial team based in our West Perth office. This permanent opportunity involves identifying and evaluating new mineral acquisition opportunities that align with our long-term growth strategy. As a Business Development Geologist at Liontown Resources, your role will involve undertaking due diligence on land packages, performing technical assessments—both through desktop reviews and fieldwork—and advising on the strategic fit of potential targets. This position demands strong technical expertise and a robust understanding of business strategy, with a particular emphasis on leveraging geological knowledge in lithium or related resources. Key responsibilities include: Business Development and Project Assessment Conduct thorough due diligence on potential acquisition targets by evaluating geology, feasibility, and the value-adding potential for our portfolio. Assess prospective land packages and mineral deposits with a focus on earnings potential and strategic fit. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for executive review, offering clear recommendations for potential acquisitions or strategic partnerships. Technical Analysis and Due Diligence Provide expert geological insights to ensure that acquisition targets align with Liontown's operational and financial goals. Coordinate and lead field visits as part of the due diligence process, gathering essential on-site data for geological and mineral assessments. Industry Engagement and Market Insight Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends in lithium and related minerals, with particular emphasis on Australian projects. Identify and evaluate emerging opportunities in the lithium sector to support Liontown's expansion and diversification strategy. This role offers an exciting opportunity to blend your geology expertise with strategic business development, positioning Liontown for continued growth and leadership in the lithium sector. About you Degree in Geology or related field; advanced qualifications in Resource Geology or Economic Geology advantageous. Demonstrated experience in field exploration geology, ideally with consultancy exposure. Background in consulting with proven exposure to asset due diligence is highly desirable. Familiarity with lithium or battery metals geology preferred; alternative minerals considered. Ability to translate geological data into strategic insights for acquisition and development decisions. Experience with geological modeling software (preferably Deswik) and other tools for 3D data analysis. Strong presentation skills to communicate technical assessments to senior leadership. Collaborative approach, able to work effectively across teams and with external consultants. Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical, National Police Clearance, and Drug and Alcohol screen.
