About the Role The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, securing new business opportunities, and expanding client relationships across Australia. The senior role focuses on identifying new market opportunities, building strategic partnerships and developing tailored solutions to meet the needs of businesses in workplace health and safety. The Business Development Manager will work closely with executive leadership, marketing and operations teams to develop and execute a national sales strategy that aligns with AusHealth Works growth objectives. This role requires a proactive, result-driven leader with strong relationship-building skills and industry expertise. What you will bring: To be successful in this role, you will: Prepare and seek approval for a strategic plan to ensure AusHealth Work achieves growth and performance aligned with the organisational strategic plan. Deliver and regularly report on the approved AusHealth Work strategic plan for NSW/VIC & QLD. Drive AusHealth’s broader strategic and operational objectives. Identify opportunities for growth and business diversification. Evaluate ideas and suggestions for new products or services and investigate market opportunities. In conjunction with the Acting Divisional Manager, CEO and Finance team, assist with the annual budget for revenue generation. Take responsibility for the preparation and delivery of the operational revenue plan to ensure AusHealth Work achieves its budget. Continuously evaluate current business processes and systems and plan and implement improvement initiatives to maximise operating efficiency of each service. Take responsibility for the achievement of AusHealth Work’s productivity and quality objectives. Maximise service delivery to achieve client satisfaction. Negotiate major contracts and manage key client accounts. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all industry trends and issues. Develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers and other external stakeholders. Prepare and deliver reports to the MD & CEO and the AusHealth Board when requested. Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Science, Applied Science or Occupational Health. Demonstrated leadership of a business unit comprised of diverse roles. Commercial acumen with demonstrated experience in understanding the business impacts of a decision on a financial, human resource, client and supplier level and remaining aware of potential related issues that may arise. Experience in developing and implementing clear strategic and operational plans. Experience in business and product development and in identifying new services. Experience in continuous improvement and technical evaluations. Proven ability to lead operational change to achieve desired outcomes. Understanding of the principles of effective team leadership and team management techniques. Proven ability to develop a strong and productive internal culture that encourages and supports employees and their professional development. Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service with the ability to develop, maintain positive client relationships and ensure delivery of a consistent, efficient and high quality of service. Ability to facilitate positive working relationships, mentor others and focus on customer (internal) needs. Excellent communication, negotiation and communication skills. Strong administration and organisational skills. Well-developed analytical skills and strong attention to detail. Results driven and solutions focused attitude. Competent level of IT skills and experience – particularly Microsoft Office. Previous experience in drug & alcohol testing, occupational health, or corporate wellness services. Established network within key industries such as transport, mining, healthcare, or construction. Experience using CRM systems to track sales performance.
