time left to apply End Date: February 23, 2025 (16 days left to apply) job requisition id R65281 About the role The Business Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing our company's fleet of vehicles, providing end-to-end fleet support primarily for the Road Express and Priority business nationally. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, logistics, and cost management. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fleet management and a passion for improving operational efficiency. The role will also contribute to the delivery of TGE’s targets to comply with the agreed service level requirements at the most economical cost for the business. The Equipment Management unit will deliver operational services to the highest safety standards to the business and maximize economic return through centralized management and implementation of strategic initiatives. What you’ll do: Provide end-to-end fleet support primarily for the Road Express and Priority business nationally. Regular engagement with key customer management and stakeholders to understand their operational process and key fleet requirements. Provide broader fleet support to the transport business throughout NSW/ACT. Identify fleet needs for the immediate (12 months) through to long term (7-10 years) with regards to demand for fleet and budgetary/resource restraints. Lead discussions on opportunities to improve return on capital employed (ROCE) for TGE as it may pertain to fleet, including rationalization of fleet within the site/business or broader geographic area. Manage day-to-day equipment operations supporting our customers, including ensuring sufficient supply of equipment and coordinating equipment allocations, transfers, and disposals in a timely manner following correct processes. Provide subject matter analytical expertise and advice over equipment needs to the business. Understand the financial implications of customer or supplier proposals and provide specialist advice on financial impacts, outcomes, and recommend commercial approach. Manage the ongoing use of rental equipment against preferred suppliers and rates, identifying non-compliance and engaging with the customers and suppliers to resolve. Assist with the design specification and standardization of new fleet. What you’ll bring: High level of demonstrated experience in fleet and equipment management nationally from light commercials to heavy vehicles and trailers. Minimum 5 years’ experience directly managing a team. Broad supply chain experience and knowledge (technical, systems, and tools). Qualifications in mechanical trades or logistics would be highly regarded. HSE Leadership experience. Detailed understanding of key business drivers. Customer service orientation - detailed understanding and strong curiosity about our customers and what adds value to them. Ability to apply logic and experience to make timely, sound judgments. Demonstrated ability to negotiate for successful outcomes at a senior level. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
