As The Business Manager You Will Provide a range of professional, advisory and executive support services to the Assistant Director-General. Manage a small team, responsible for the delivery of corporate and executive service functions across the branch ensuring compliance, priorities and adherence to timeframes are achieved in delivering quality outcomes. The methods of assessing suitability in the recruitment process may vary.Your Role Responsibilities Include Ensure effective management and workflow of the branches administrative support teams and resources while maintaining high level service to clients ensuring adherence to departmental policy, practices and procedures to achieve business objectives. Coordinate the team supporting the branch's senior management team in delivering effective financial management including grants, human resources management, information and asset management services and support for all units within the Branch. Lead and provide effective training and development programs, forums and information sessions in alignment with emerging and current issues, trends and strategic and operational plans that impact the unit, and participate in management and planning forums in establishing, integrating and maintaining strategic direction, supporting collaborative work practices, standards, procedures and processes. Provide strategic and operational advice to the Assistant Director-General and the Senior Management team in identifying and addressing current and emerging corporate governance and organisational issues which directly impact on the effectiveness, quality service delivery and the achievement of outcomes. Manage, monitor and analyse the budget for the branch and report accurate, timely advice relative to budgetary performance to the Assistant Director-General, senior management team and departmental officers. Prepare and provide timely human resource reports, plans and advice to the Assistant Director-General and senior management team ensuring the integrity of the branch's establishment and data. Undertake complex research (including financial and non-financial performance), analysis and prepare reports, recommendations, submissions, briefing notes and corporate correspondence on a broad range of issues on behalf of the Senior Management team. Consult with the Office of the Deputy Director-General and departmental officers in providing the branch's input into departmental planning reporting requirements such as Ministerial Portfolio Statements, estimates committee, annual report, Corporate Business Report, Risk Register and internal controls. Develop, implement, monitor and maintain the branch's corporate systems, procedures and policies that ensure the delivery of quality outcomes and continuous improvement relative to purchasing and logistics, asset management, financial systems and reporting, and human resource management and administration systems.
