Business Support Officer (Health & Safety) Queensland Bulk Handling (QBH) is currently seeking a Business Support Officer (Health & Safety) to join the team on site at our port operations. About UsQueensland Bulk Handling (QBH) is Brisbane’s leading bulk handling facility and is part of the New Hope Group. Commissioned in 1983, the facility has gained an international reputation as one of the nation’s most reliable, efficient, and quality assured bulk handling export terminals with an excellent safety record. About the RoleReporting to the Senior Safety Advisor, the Business Support Officer (Health & Safety) provides effective and timely professional support to the Health & Safety team at Queensland Bulk Handling, as well as additional administration support to other site teams as needed. This role is a six month contract, available on either a full time or part time basis depending on the candidate. Located at the Port of Brisbane, you'll become part of a dedicated team committed to excellence. Responsibilities Provides a high level of administrative assistance to the Health and Safety Team for day to day functions including document management, data entry, cyclical processes, safety projects, and any other initiatives. Maintains workforce management system (Damstra) data by ensuring certifications, qualifications, and other relevant records are up to date. Assists with contractor management by collating compliance documents and preparing materials for inductions. Coordinates and collates information and assists in preparation of reports within required timeframes i.e. monthly reports. Creates and refreshes training packages and presentations to ensure they are up to date and compliant. Manages the SharePoint Intranet page by uploading policies, documents, and any other relevant updates. Ensures that safety processes are accurately documented and updated when required. Prepares general communications, as required in a timely manner. Identifies improvement opportunities and streamlines existing practices and processes to provide more efficient and effective processes including policy and procedure reviews. Provides a high level of general administrative assistance to other Queensland Bulk Handling teams as required. About You Hold a current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle. Qualification (or studying towards) in Health & Safety is highly regarded. Interest in working in port operations or heavy industry. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with both internally and externally. Effective time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and commitments. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
