About Us The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Moreton Bay Region. The Staying Deadly Hub aims to provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and assertive outreach support to clients presenting with moderate to severe mental health needs. Working in a unique multidisciplinary care team as an extension of the IUIH comprehensive model of care, along with integration with the Staying Deadly teams to provide appropriate and responsive care to clients who would otherwise not access support or require inpatient care. About the Role As the Business Administration Officer for our new Staying Deadly Hub Caboolture, you will be one of the first points of contact for our newly established team. Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive administration and service coordination to contribute to our service objectives and offering responsive administrative support for mob seeking mental health care. Day to day duties will include: Performing a broad range of administrative support functions with limited supervision, including organising forms, photocopies, files, orders, program materials and educational handouts; and making reminder calls for visits as requested. Maintaining accurate and confidential records and data of daily activities. Supporting an environment that fosters teamwork, cooperation, respect, and diversity. Assuming responsibility for ensuring efficient and productive use of calendars. Coordinating room bookings. Working closely with local manager, key local support staff, and outreach providers to assist in troubleshooting issues which may arise in the course of service delivery. Contributing to the development and ongoing refinement of referral and follow-up pathways between local clinics and multi-disciplinary service providers. Checking eligibilities and ensuring referrals are in place for clients accessing multi-disciplinary services. Coordinating patient registrations and maintaining patient contact details. Processing Medicare billing on behalf of service providers. Creating a welcoming environment for clients and visitors of the service. Monitoring referral and recall systems for multi-disciplinary service providers to ensure patient’s continuity of care is maintained. Performing general word processing duties including typing letters, agendas, minutes, and reports. About You To perform this role it is essential that the incumbent is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991. Current Criminal History Check. Valid Blue Card. Current CPR Certificate. Ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their leaders, and health professionals, while respecting traditional culture, values, and ways of doing business. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and actively contribute to the team. Previous experience working with an electronic Patient Management System e.g. MMEx (electronic medical appointment system). Knowledge and understanding (or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and understanding of) the Australian Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS). Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities. What Can We Offer?
