An opportunity is now available for a passionate and committed Registered Nurse to join the Acute Care Team. This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two weeks notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency. About You: Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Recent clinical experience in providing mental health assessments and acute care interventions, coupled with a strong commitment to quality improvement, practice development, and evidence-based practice. Demonstrated personal attributes including resilience, integrity and accountability. Where You'll Be Working Based at Wyong Hospital, this position will provide acute care and crisis intervention in the Central Coast community. You will work a rotating 7 day roster within the team and may be required to support other mental health teams to provide safe and effective care. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Acute Care Team (ACT) offers expert guidance to consumers, performs clinical mental health assessments, and provides consultations to carers and other healthcare professionals. In this position, you will advocate for a client-centered, family-friendly, and carer-supportive approach when assisting consumers with mental health-related illnesses/disorders. Responsibilities include receiving and triaging referrals from inpatient and community mental health services, and the Mental Health Line. Additionally, the RN ACT will possess the necessary training and experience to offer expert mental health clinical expertise and nursing knowledge.
