About You You have current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). You possess recent clinical experience in provision of mental health assessment/acute care interventions and commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice. You have demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and sound written, verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively prioritise and organise workload. Where you'll be working The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Acute Care Team (ACT) provides expert advice to consumers, conducts clinical mental health assessments, provides consultation to carers and other health professionals within the defined specialty area. This position will provide acute care, case management and crisis intervention to the Central Coast community. The RN ACT will promote a client centred, family friendly / carer supportive approach in working with consumers with Mental Health related illnesses/disorders. The RN ACT accepts and triages referrals received from inpatient and community mental health services, General Practitioners, and other Government and Non-Government organisations. The RN ACT will have achieved a relevant level of training and experience to be able to provide mental health clinical expertise and nursing knowledge. The RN ACT will practice in a safe manner and provide high quality care to consumers. The RN ACT will have proven communication and interpersonal skills and be able to maintain high standards of knowledge and skills by participating in ongoing education. The RN ACT will work a rotating 7 day roster within the team and may be required to support other mental health teams to provide safe and effective care.
