CHIA NT Manager POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: CHIA NT Manager Hours/Term: 0.6 FTE for a period of 12 months subject to funding Reports to: Chief Executive Officer Classification: Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award, Level 8.3 ABOUT US NT Shelter is the peak body for homelessness and affordable housing in the Northern Territory. We are a member-based organisation incorporated under the Associations Act (NT) and a registered charity, with members representing specialist homeless service organisations, community housing providers, domestic and family violence services, and other non-government organisations. Our vision is for appropriate and affordable housing for ALL people in the Northern Territory. NT Shelter staff are based in Darwin and Alice Springs, but we maintain a strong focus on the regions, advocating for better housing outcomes across the Northern Territory. CHIA NT is an unincorporated body that is the peak representative of community housing providers in the NT. This role is subject to an auspicing arrangement whereby NT Shelter will be the employer for the duration of the fixed-term contract, but tasks undertaken will often be guided by advice from CHIA NT members, in conjunction with NT Shelter. POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the NT Shelter Chief Executive Officer, the CHIA NT Executive Officer is responsible for the delivery of project activities and outcomes associated with NT Shelter’s grant with the Northern Territory Government for the delivery of services in relation to the Community Housing Industry Association Northern Territory (CHIA NT). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Promote and engage the government and other key stakeholders in the delivery of the Industry Development Plan (IDP) for the registered community housing sector in the Northern Territory. In conjunction with CHIA NT members and key stakeholders, coordinate and drive initiatives and projects that further develop and implement priority action areas identified under the IDP, including but not limited to: Recruitment and retention of staff for the sector linking in with initiatives underway with other Peaks in the NT. Capability and capacity building of the sector. CHIA NT Forum, related networks, and events. Training and learning and development opportunities, including bundled training designed to address specific skills gaps in the community housing sector. Policy influence and policy development for the sector. Operational tools that the sector can utilise. Delivering a plan that has been consulted with stakeholders, which forms up longer-term options for CHIA NT, which will be cost-effective and complementary to the functions of other Peaks. Develop project scope and deliverables for the use of a consultant(s) to assist with project deliverables, as agreed with CHIA NT members and other key stakeholders. Project manage effectively to ensure outcomes are successfully delivered on time and within budget. Provide quarterly progress reports, including reports to the Northern Territory Government on agreed project outcome areas, including budget expenditure to the CEO. Lead any agreed management and grant project monitoring meetings with the Northern Territory as may be required from time to time. Work with NT Shelter CEO to ensure that the project budget and outcomes are acquitted, or able to be subsequently acquitted by NT Shelter at a future date, prior to cessation of employment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
