Exciting opportunity for a full time CaFIS Family Support Worker – in our Piliyintinji-ki – Stronger Families Services Section, based in Tennant Creek. About us Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation (Anyinginyi Health) is a multi-disciplinary organisation which provides primary health care services to the Aboriginal people of Tennant Creek and the surrounding Barkly region, dedicated to ‘Closing the Gap’ in Aboriginal health within remote Australia. About the Role The CaFIS Youth Worker will work to support the youth of families referred from Territory Families Housing & Communities (TFHC), Anyinginyi Health Services Section, other external agencies, and self-referral where a child or children has/have been identified as having experienced abuse and/or neglect or have been identified as being at high risk of neglect and/or abuse, in order to improve the care and safety of the child or children. The CaFIS Youth Worker will work in a culturally appropriate way with the youth and develop support plans that meet the youth’s identified needs within the family referred. The role is part of a small team that ensures the program remains responsive to community need and that there is ongoing continuity of service and coverage for youth within families referred to the CaFIS program. More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to): Support ongoing development, coordination and facilitation of positive engagement, interventions and activities. Undertake administrative duties including report writing and the timely management of electronic client data records and registers. Work with the Department of Children and Families in relation to reporting and mandated processes as required. Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes, including work health and safety. This role reports to and consults with the CaFIS Team Leader. Ensure all program material and content is up to date, appropriate, relevant and engaging for the target audience. Be involved in collaboration with key stakeholders including community, government, and not-for-profit agencies, representing, and advocating for Anyinginyi Health and the program. About you To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate knowledge of Aboriginal culture and deliver services in a culturally responsive manner . You must be able to create and maintain accurate reports and have experience working in Child and/or Family Services or similar. Previous experience within Remote Communities, specifically the Tennant Creek Region is essential. Essential skills and experience Minimum Diploma or higher-level qualification in Child, Family and Youth Interventions, Community Services, Counselling, or similar. Experience working in Aboriginal community health or welfare services. Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain effective networks and relationships. Well-developed communication skills necessary to work and inform a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated case management skills related to family, child and youth work. Experience in planning, implementing, tracking, reporting on and evaluating projects. Well-developed skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Evidenced ability to work independently with accountability and persistence. Desirable skills and experience Experience and knowledge of the Tennant Creek and Barkly Region. Ability to speak a local language.
