We’ve not only shaped what Australia looks like, but more importantly, how Australia homes. THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a full time Cadet Draftsperson to join our Adelaide team. This opportunity will put the successful applicant onto a succession plan to become a skilled Production Draftsperson with Simonds Homes. You'll be provided with on-the-job training and mentoring from some of the best Drafting professionals in the industry to support you on this journey. Some responsibilities of a Cadet Draftsperson include but are not limited to: Assist the drafting team with preparing, completing and updating drawings as per client requests. Draft tender and contract drawings for appointments. Familiarise yourself with the Building Code of Australia and apply this knowledge to drawings, ensuring compliance with developer guidelines, local council and energy rating requirements. Support the drafting team with enquiries from customers, suppliers, planning authorities and internal departments. Maintain thorough knowledge of Simonds standards, products, services, and processes to complete work accurately and of a high standard. WHO YOU ARE We're looking for candidates who have: Formal qualifications in residential drafting (highly desirable). A drive to become a Production Draftsperson with residential building. Capability in reading and producing working drawings. Basic understanding of the residential home building and construction process. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD software and BCA/Planning and Design Code. Good analytical skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office. Demonstrated organisational and time management skills - able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, working well under pressure. Exceptional communication skills who can work autonomously and within a team to achieve set targets and KPIs. A high level of attention to detail and a proactive approach to all tasks. WHY JOIN US?
