Fixed Term Position until March 2026 Part time at 32 hours per fortnightResearch Nurse Level 2 (YU13) Alfred Hospital Location The Department The Department of Cardiology provides a complete range of cardiology services covering general cardiology, heart failure, and structural heart and arrhythmia specialities. It also undertakes clinical research activities in affiliation with Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. The Cardiology Department is involved in a large number of international and local clinical trials from Phase 1 first in human to Phase 3 randomised controlled trials investigating newly developed drugs and devices for clinical use in Cardiovascular medicine. The Position An exciting opportunity exists for a part-time Registered Nurse to assist with cardiac clinical research under the direction of Principal Investigator and associated medical staff. Duties include but are not limited to: Assisting in screening and recruiting subjects into a clinical research study Completing study-related procedures and documentation Entering data into online web-based systems Assisting in study-specific clinical care Communicating effectively with patients, staff, sponsors, and study personnel The successful applicant will gain valued exposure to the Cardiology department, Acute Coronary Syndrome, Hyperlipemia and build upon their excellent clinical knowledge, familiarising themselves with device and drug research within the department. Administrative work is also required in relation to study drug/devices, with the relevant training to be provided. Skills and Qualifications Required Registered Nurse with current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registration with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Diploma in Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent certification) Certification in research Good Clinical Practice Certification in Safe transport of Infectious Substances by air course. CASA approved.
