Southern Adelaide Local Health Network – Flinders Medical Centre – Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care Total Indicative Remuneration Package: $254,981 - $335,587 MD02 (pro rata) | Part Time 22.50 Hours p.w. – Ongoing We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiology Consultant to join our Cardiology Team! About the role: Reporting to the Director of Cardiology, this role provides comprehensive cardiac care specifically including a cardiac electrophysiology role across the network. Responsibilities include clinical service provision of inpatient ward work, outpatient clinics, teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates, administrative tasks, research projects, and involvement in professional and community services activities. Duties for the role will include: Assisting with research activities as specified by the Unit Head or Clinical Director, Division of Medicine, Cardiac and Critical Care by conducting Cardiology research and collaborating with other units within the hospital and other Cardiology units. Coordinating the follow-up care of patients. Involvement in cardiac investigations including ECG reporting, holter monitor reporting, pacemaker, loop recorder, and defibrillator interrogation and programming. Working harmoniously with all members of the clinical team. Provision of inpatient ward services including ward rounds, consultations, procedures, quality assurance activities, discharge planning, and coding assessments. Undergraduate and postgraduate training. About you: Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award. Training in Cardiac Electrophysiology as per the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in General Cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology, and Coronary Care. Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of professional judgement and medical competence in a multidisciplinary setting. Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff. Documented experience in providing invasive Electrophysiology services including: basic electrophysiological studies; simple electrophysiological ablative techniques; complex electrophysiological ablative techniques with mapping technologies; insertion of temporary pacing wires; insertion of permanent pacing systems; insertion of implantable defibrillator systems; insertion of biventricular pacing systems.
