Job Description

Case Management Officer (First Nations-Identified) - Brisbane QIFVLS is a state-wide Community Legal Practice with offices across 8 regions in Queensland. We are a not-for-profit organisation that provides free legal services, including court and tribunal representation, welfare support, advocacy, and community education to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims of family violence and/or sexual assault. Currently, we have a vacancy for a Case Management Officer (CMO) in our Community Legal Practice for the Brisbane Office. Please note, that to perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person and is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld). The Case Management Officer is responsible for building the capacity to empower high needs and vulnerable people, and their communities to take control over their own lives. The position uses a strength-based / trauma-informed approach to build on individual, family, community, and cultural strengths. This position assists the legal team with the coordination of Community Education (CE) programs, community outreach, and holistic support services for QIFVLS. Guided by the Legal & Case Management Practice Standards, your duties will include, but are not limited to: Manage case management assignments, intake, risk assessments, needs assessment, draft Case Management Plans (CMP), service plans, review case progress, and determine case closure of vulnerable, high needs clients. Record case information, file notes, and complete accurately all necessary forms and produce statistical reports, including maintaining accurate and relevant client records for reporting, evaluating, and sharing of information aligned to QIFVLS file management and reporting standards. Provide trauma and culturally informed, healing assistance, both as lead and as a part of collaborative support case management service. Attend, participate, and present to forums in a manner consistent with QIFVLS standards. Maintain accurate and relevant client records. Network and liaise with community organisations. The person we seek will be personable, caring, and possess excellent organisational skills. A current open driver's licence is mandatory for this position, along with willingness to provide a national police clearance and eligibility to apply successfully for a Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
