Employment type: Full time, PermanentHours per week: 38Number of Positions: 2Remuneration: Band 7 salary from $112,427.64 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDOLocation: Werribee basedAbout the role Seeking procurement practitioners to join a centre led decentralised model, passionate about delivering the highest level of satisfaction to our stakeholders, projects partners and end users. A commitment to sustainable, social and best practice procurement is front of mind, along with innovative category strategies and a commitment to supplier relationship management. This role will be focusing on working with multiple teams that are responsible for major operational activities and projects in our expanding municipality. Partnering with business units, you will be supporting the teams with all their procurement needs, delivering an exceptional client experience. You will be able to influence and educate in best practice procurement process, enabling our stakeholders with the skills and knowledge to deliver projects in line with council expectations and policies. You will educate and provide innovative solutions to any challenges faced by your client groups, with support from management and direct line reports. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing procurement team, in a friendly forward-thinking environment, offering opportunities and challenges with a great work life balance.What your day may look like In the morning, you start by meeting with internal stakeholders to discuss the strategic approach for an upcoming procurement project. After that, you chair a tender evaluation consensus meeting and oversee the execution of a new contract. In the afternoon, you participate in a procurement team meeting, sharing insights and lessons learned from your recent projects. Throughout the day, you manage incoming emails and respond to enquiries from colleagues across the organisation. Late in the day, you wrap up by finalising key documents, such as a baseline cost model, a tender evaluation report, and a savings and benefits report. What you will bring Tertiary qualification desirable but not essential in a related discipline, 3 years minimum experience in Procurement or Supply Chain management government and/or private sector. Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement, category and contract management with an enhanced understanding of the procurement life cycle. Excellent customer service skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude where you understand your customers’ needs and procurement requirements. Demonstrated experience in developing policies, procedures, manuals and diagrams including understanding of legislative requirements. Experience in delivering successful sourcing projects to tight timelines where you achieve cost reductions through effective management of services/works categories. Conceptual and analytical thinking capability and ability to collate and innovatively manage large sets of information to make informed recommendations resolving issues.
