Chief of Police - City Of Canning - City of Ferndale City of Ferndale City Of Canning 3 days ago Description The City of Ferndale, Washington seeks an experienced law enforcement professional with outstanding leadership skills to serve as Chief of Police. Ferndale is a high-growth community located in the northwest corner of Washington State in Whatcom County. The City provides a full range of municipal services including Police, Planning, Building, Streets, Parks, and Utilities. The annual budget for this position is approximately $68 million and the City employs 90 FTEs. The Department The Ferndale Police Department completed the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) rigorous accreditation program. The Ideal Candidate The successful individual must have proven experience and knowledge in the application of state and federal laws. They must also have strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a law enforcement related field and 10 years of law enforcement experience. Management experience at a police agency equal in size to Ferndale or larger is desirable. Licensing and Certification Valid Washington State driver's license with clean driving record free from serious or frequent violations. Applicant must meet the requirements of RCW 43.101.095, Peace Officer Certification. Compensation Annual salary range of $145,000 to $170,000 based on experience and qualifications.
