$114,500 - $125,000 + Super + Salary Sacrifice The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. In keeping with IUIH’s Vision of healthy, strong and vibrant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and communities, the Family Health and Wellbeing business Unit aims to support and deliver education and care from pre-conception, pregnancy and birthing care to early childhood, paediatric and extended family support services. About the Role? The Child Health Manager is responsible for managing and improving the delivery of Child Health care and support to families and children during the preconception, antenatal, birthing, postnatal and early childhood period. With the goal of optimising access for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families to high quality, culturally safe, comprehensive care to enhance family functioning and to promote childhood development and parental wellbeing. The role will drive effective collaboration, coordination and integration of organisations, service providers complementing FHWB programs. The Child Health Manager will provide support and clinical supervision to a team to ensure quality care, education and support the development of workforce. Day to Day Duties Include: Work closely with Hub Managers to support the collection, collation and synthesis of data for purposes of program evaluation as well as to inform continuous quality improvement across the BCFW unit. Implement strategies to optimize income generation, including efficient generation of MBS income where applicable and identify new sources for relevant grants or funding opportunities. Manage and lead team to provide quality, value adding services in all aspects of child and maternal health services in accordance with community needs, priorities and State/Commonwealth Government funding and policy guidelines. Develop, implement and promote effective communication linkages between staff, partners and external stakeholders. Encourage and facilitate a team-based approach to program coordination and delivery of services. Ensure delivery of Child Health Services is underpinned by the MATSICHS Quality and Safety governance framework that fosters reflective practice, constructive feedback and service improvement, risk prevention and management, and the highest standards in quality and safety of client care. Liaise with medical reception staff to ensure clinic appointments are scheduled appropriately, families are informed and reminded of upcoming appointments and are assisted to access the clinic with transport as needed. About You? Minimum of three years’ experience managing and leading multidisciplinary teams. Experience working in and demonstrated knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled health sector. Minimum of three years’ experience working with children and families in a primary health care and/or community setting. Broad understanding of attachment and trauma informed practice. Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD). AHPRA Registration as Registered Nurse or Midwife. Valid Disability Worker Screening Check. Post graduate qualifications in Child and Family Health (or working towards). Current First Aid and CPR Certificates. Desirable, but not mandatory: Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and/or communities. What Can we Offer?
