Mala’la Health Service is seeking an experienced Remote Area Nurse (RAN) to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in Maningrida, NT. To be a successful Chronic Conditions Nurse, you will be able to promote and provide a comprehensive, culturally appropriate, patient-centred Chronic Conditions Program, and also work collaboratively with other stakeholders in Maningrida. Key Responsibilities Work within the Chronic Conditions Program in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality prevention and treatment Provide a culturally safe, competent and comprehensive care Develop and maintain a strong referral pathway Work with the broader team including external agencies The successful applicant will have access to a range of benefits, including: Excellent salary N 4 level + superannuation Fully subsidised accommodation provided Opportunity for on-call and overtime payments Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum, plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment Relocation assistance available to eligible candidates 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading Retention Allowance $10,000 for each 12-month completion Work with a committed and passionate team About Mala’la Mala’la Health Service is a respected & accredited Aboriginal Corporation providing services to the seaside community of Maningrida (520 km east of Darwin), with a population of approximately 3,000 people. These services include Primary Health Care, Aged & Community Care, Family & Community Wellness, Drugs & Alcohol Services. Mala’la Health Service provides Primary Health Care services to Maningrida and surrounding homelands under a Community Control model. The role will see you working in a remote Aboriginal Community. All applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Aboriginal people living in remote settings. Minimum Requirements To apply, please ensure that you have the following: Current AHPRA Registration and Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse Current Remote Emergency Care Course certificate and/or Advance Life Support certificate Current accredited Immunisation certificate (recognised in the NT) Remote Pharmacotherapeutic Certificate (or equivalent) Manual Driver’s License Min 5 years broad nursing experience post registration and 3 years working in a primary health related field in a remote context, with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote settings (including the ability to triage, work independently and participate in emergency calls and First Response) Mala’la Health Service is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for all staff and clients of our Health Care Centre.
