About the opportunity Seeking a motivated and experienced Chronic Pain Specialist to join our friendly and professional team, who maintain an excellent work/life balance in the country. This service provides a medical tertiary referral centre for surrounding areas of the Central West. On-call is approximately 1 in 4. There are three medical teams each with a consultant, registrar and resident/intern. There is additional support from subspecialty consultation, as well as ICU, hospital in the home and ambulatory care services. Successful applicants will have the ability to practise in their specialty. This may include opportunities in outreach clinics. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team. Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Fellowship of the applicable College. Demonstrated current Pain Medicine clinical practice of a high standard, with ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice. Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of the Western Local Health District, including the provision of services to local community, effective use of resources, preparedness to participate in provision of health services at District level, if credentialed.
