Southern Queensland Rural Health Part-time (50% FTE), fixed-term position through to 31 December 2026 commencing ASAP The full-time base salary will range from $112,572 - $133,381 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B) Primarily based at SQRH Toowoomba About This Opportunity We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join us at Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) as a Clinical Educator to make a real and positive difference to the education of our students and the future of regional healthcare in Queensland. As the Clinical Educator , you will support high quality rural training experiences for undergraduate Occupational Therapy students across regional, rural and remote Southern Queensland. This will include direct supervision of students during rural clinical placements, facilitating interprofessional learning opportunities, as well as collaboration with healthcare providers, supervisors and a broad range of stakeholders to build student placement capacity and quality. Key Responsibilities: Teaching: Provide clinical supervision of students, deliver health care interventions in a student-assisted clinic model, develop educational materials, facilitate interprofessional learning opportunities, assess students and provide academic counselling. Research: Contribute to rural health research, publish and present research outcomes and implement new clinical techniques. Citizenship and Service: Develop and foster SQRH partnerships, engage in internal and external service roles, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values. About You Completion of a tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy. Broad clinical experience as a health professional, with at least 3 years of recent practice experience. Demonstrated experience and expertise in clinical education and supervision of undergraduate health students. Sound knowledge of interprofessional education, collaboration and practice or the willingness and ability to rapidly acquire, utilise and disseminate such knowledge. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and work consultatively. Demonstrated ability to work independently with high levels of initiative and autonomy, along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. A commitment to research activities and a willingness to participate in rural health research. An ability to establish relationships and to represent and promote your academic discipline at a university and wider community level, including industry, government and professional bodies. Willingness to travel, where required. Experience in rural practice, rural health education, clinical education training or the coordination of allied health programs would be advantageous. The successful candidate will also be required to complete mandatory immunisations and hold and maintain full AHPRA registration.
