The Role Reporting to the General Counsel and Head of Risk and Governance, the Clinical Governance and Risk Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous evolution of Honeysuckle Health’s clinical governance and risk frameworks. These frameworks are designed to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Although Honeysuckle Health is headquartered in Newcastle NSW, hybrid or remote working arrangements will be considered (Australia-based only). Responsibilities Establish, maintain and enhance policies, procedures and guidelines to support clinical governance initiatives. Report on clinical governance and quality assurance activities, including the clinical performance of third-party service providers, to the Honeysuckle Health Board and to internal and external stakeholders (principally Honeysuckle Health’s shareholders). Hold the business accountable to ensure accreditation under the ISO 9001:2015 standard is maintained, including assisting with external audits. Hold providers accountable to contractual performance requirements and established clinical governance and industry standards. Work closely with relevant teams to investigate clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints, as well as overseeing the implementation of corrective actions. Support the ongoing evolution of Honeysuckle Health’s broader risk management framework to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks. Partner with the teams across the business to support risk assessments and the development of risk mitigation plans. Drive continuous improvement in clinical governance by staying up to date with changes to healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, as well as advancements and best practices to enhance Honeysuckle Health’s processes and policies. Assist in providing clinicians with up-to-date and relevant information relevant to their areas of practice to support ongoing education and quality improvement. Support Honeysuckle Health to action any reasonable customer requests for personal information. Work with Honeysuckle Health General Counsel to handle any complaints or questions from customers as they arise under the Honeysuckle Health Privacy Policy. Participate in the continuous review and enhancement of clinical governance processes and policies. Lead initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of risk management and governance practices. Knowledge Requirements A degree in a relevant health field (preferred). Experience within a clinical governance and/or risk management function of a health services organisation (preferred). Proven ability to build effective internal/external business relationships across all levels of an organisation, including at a senior level. Demonstrated decision making skills at a senior level and experience with responsibility for delivery of outcomes. Strong influencing and collaboration skills. An ability to demonstrate action in complex ambiguous environments. Understanding and documenting business requirements. Excellent organisational, presentation and communication skills. Confidence and credibility. Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
