Permanent – Part Time Full Time at 64hrs per f/n Clinical Nurse Consultant C- ZA7 Multiple Sites Department The Diabetes and Endocrine Unit, part of the Alfred Specialty Medicine Program. Position Summary The Diabetes and Endocrine Unit has an exciting opportunity for a Diabetes Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) position. It is a permanent, part-time position with a ZA7 classification. The Alfred Specialty Medicine Program within the Operations division comprises six clinical units including Clinical Genetics and Genomics, Dermatology, Endocrine and Diabetes, Gastroenterology, Renal, and Rheumatology. The program provides admitted services including multi-day (Ward 4WA) and Same Day Dialysis services (The Alfred, Caulfield, and Sandringham campuses), and specialist outpatient and ambulatory services. This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Diabetes Educator to join the team at Alfred Health. The Diabetes CNC is a member of the Alfred Health Endocrinology and Diabetes Education Team, working collaboratively throughout Alfred Health to contribute to the care of a specific patient group, providing both inpatient and outpatient care. The Diabetes CNC will demonstrate superior clinical expertise promoting best practice evidence-based care while acting as a resource for specialty advice throughout the hospital. The CNC will work closely with community health services to support the transfer and continuity of patient care. The Diabetes CNC will support patients to achieve and align their goals with the designated department through education, negotiation, and excellent communication skills, providing education and access to technology, maximizing opportunities to achieve optimal health outcomes. As part of the Diabetes Education Team, the CNC will participate in National Diabetes Audits and use statistical analysis to identify insights and conclusions from complex data, directing service development. Experience and Qualifications Required Currently Registered as a Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA. Postgraduate qualification in Diabetes Education and Management with ADEA Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE) status. A candidate with insulin pump experience will be preferred.
