The Team: Join a dynamic team of health care professionals dedicated to contemporary, evidence-based practices. We are a growing team of high-achieving professionals passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of adults in the north of Tasmania. This Perinatal community team provides free and confidential specialist mental health assessment and treatment plans to support women who experience or are at risk of developing moderate to severe mental health symptoms up until the infant is 12 months of age (postnatal period). We offer face-to-face appointments at various locations including clinics, hospitals, community health centres, and at home. Telehealth appointments may also be available. We are a multidisciplinary team made up of perinatal specialists, including Consultant Psychiatrist, Registrar/Career Medical Officer, and Perinatal Mental Health Clinicians (Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals - Social Worker/Occupational Therapist). You will need: Demonstrated knowledge and experience within Mental Health Services, with an understanding of Perinatal and Infant Mental Health clinical practice. Knowledge of psychiatric disorders occurring in the perinatal period and appropriate treatments. Understanding of factors affecting an infant’s emotional, social, cognitive, and behavioural development. Details of appointment: Fixed term full-time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately six (6) months. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for twelve months from the date of publication. Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum, with an 11.5% superannuation contribution on top of this amount. In addition, the following allowances may be available: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration. Desirable criteria: Experience in Adult or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service or a Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service. Further education in perinatal or infant mental health, or counselling. Current Driver’s Licence.
