Unit/Division: Child and Adolescent Health Service > Respiratory Medicine This is a Part Time, Fixed Term appointment at 30.40 hours (0.4FTE) with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. The days for this role are Tuesdays and Fridays. About Our Team: The Respiratory Nursing staff at Perth Children’s Hospital is a dynamic specialist nursing team who work independently and within wider groups to achieve positive health outcomes for kids in WA with respiratory conditions. Within Respiratory Nursing, there are two streams: Complex Respiratory and Ventilation. The Complex Respiratory stream covers Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, and management of severe asthma using biologic therapies. The Ventilation stream covers long-term home invasive and non-invasive ventilation, and ex-preterm infants requiring home oxygen. Position Profile: We are seeking a motivated nurse with leadership skills and experience in working with infants, children, and young people with respiratory conditions to work as the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Ventilation stream. The Ventilation CNS will work within a team including Clinical Nurses and a Clinical Nurse Consultant to provide care to children requiring invasive and non-invasive home ventilation and ex-preterm infants. The Ventilation CNS will also provide knowledge, clinical expertise, and leadership to staff and families, coordinate care for complex home ventilation patients, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary members of the Respiratory Department, CAHS, and other WA Health teams.
